Sooo funny, I just watched them all.

Help raise funds for a film that sheds some light on the gay rights issue in Uganda. Every little bit counts.

Reading my macroecon book to prep for class tomorrow, came across a paragraph discussing growth in African countries relative to OECD and Asian countries where the author states that because there is no pattern of growth or convergence in Africa, she will disregard Africa because its too complicated to explain why African countries have struggled to grow between the 60s-early 2000s. THEN she’s like: “oh, yeah African countries are growing now (2007) but thats not really significant..” REALLY?! 

How is it that even my own education continues to reinforce the ignorant, imperialistic idea that African countries have no relevance to the greater global consciousness aside from discussing poverty and aid?

I hope my outrage is palpable
